Russel Dobular: “Everything’s dangerous. Everything’s a threat to the Republic. Everything’s a danger to our safety.” Yes, when you continuously invoke the idea in a country, whether it’s true or not, where people are very invested in the idea that we live in a democracy and if this man is elected it is going to be not only the end of democracy. It’s going to be the beginning of a Nazi type fascist regime oriented around this Project 2025, well, yeah man, you are telling certain people who are so inclined, well, what if you could go back in time and stop Hitler, the classic formulation, and of course that’s going to happen. So this is just a duck and a dodge. Yes, they don’t quite as clearly call for violence, but when you say that if this person is elected, it’s the end of our system of government, it’s the end of our way of life you are tacitly calling for violence”

Keaton Weis . . . the Democrats made a mistake in 2016 when they failed to normalize Trump. . . . the Democrats can’t do that with Kamela because she doesn’t stand for anything and she’s part of an incumbent administration with a horrible record. So they feel probably pigeon holed in that sense that the only thing we could do is create this image of Trump as an existential threat.”

Dangerous to ask your question in that way

Keaton Weiss: “This is the White House Press Secretary’s version of “Fuck me? No, Fuck you!” or “I’m a dangerous kook? No, you’re a dangerous kook.”

Trump has not helped himself with inflammatory rhetoric

You’re asking us to moderate?

And existential threat to the Republic

Illegal Immigrants as rapists who barbeque and eat neighborhood pets

Keaton Weiss: This has been their attack on Trump for eight years which transcends the specifics of any particular news cycle, whereas Trump has moments where he definitely throws gas on a fire instead of cooling it off, and this is one of those moments. But, of course, you know, these sorts of frenzies are not whipped up over night when the essence of your argument against someone is that they are a unique evil that must be stopped at all costs.”
